Tom Black Service Center was founded in 1981 to provide prompt, reliable service of analytical instrumentation. We have an office in Yorba Linda to service Southern California and an office in Modesto to service the Bay Area.
Tom Black worked for Beckman Instruments for 22 years as a field service representative and as the inside repair service manager. For the past 23 years he has been building his own company. His specialty is UV-VIS-NIR and IR Spectrophotometers.
Frank Grubaugh is a graduate of Devry Technical Institute. He joined TBSC in 1989. He is trained in UV-VIS-NIR and IR Spectrophotometers HPLC systems, Atomic Absorption, DNA sequencers, and is factory trained on Buck Scientific Equipment.
Carlos Rivas was factory trained and spent 10 years in field service with Beckman Instruments. He joined TBSC in 1990 and services UV-VIS Spectrophotometers, HPLC, Centrifuges and DNA Sequencers.
Phil Berriman was factory trained and spent 8 years with Beckman as a Senior Field Representative in nuclear counting instrumentation. He left Beckman in 1990 to work for The City of Hope Medical Center as Senior Biomedical Engineering Technician for 3 years. Before Joining TBSC, he was sole proprietor of Biomedic, servicing a wide variety of scientific research equipment. In 1996 Phil joined TBSC as Senior Field Service Representative. He is in charge of our NIST Certification Program and protocols for wide variety of scientific instrumentation. Phil was trained in-house on Spectrophotometers and is factory trained to work on Sanyo Equipment.
Aaron Daveler graduated from ITT Technical Institute in March of 1999 with an Associate Degree in Electronics. He Joined TBSC in March of 2000. He is trained in HPLC, Spectrophotometers, DNA Sequencers, and Centrifuges. He was trained by Cal Tech In refrigeration and is EPA certified in refrigeration. Aaron is factory trained by Forma and Sanyo on their equipment.
Combined experience for this group is over 100 years. Not only are we experienced, we are very good at what we do.
